- One hope that I have when I think about working with children and families who come from diverse backgrounds is to make them feel like family and give them a sense of unity. We all have the same red running through our veins and she be treated as equals.
- One goal I would like to set for the early childhood field that is related to issues of diversity, equity, and social justice is to bring open-mindedness to the table so people realize exactly how big the word diversity is. Diversity has so many layers to it and one goal I have is to make people aware of what diversity really is and with me doing that equity will hopefully fall in place and so will social justice. But it all starts with educating people about people.
I just want to take the time out to thank my colleagues/classmates for being so wonderful and supportive. You all have been truly a blessing in this journey. Thank you for sharing your stories and giving me words of encouragement when I needed them most! I look forward to sharing the next leg of this journey with all of you! See you next semester. :0)

Banae,
ReplyDeleteWe are all human and all should be treated with respect and dignity no matter what and I like how you said, we all have the same red stuff running through our veins. People should feel welcome and like that are a part of something.
You have great goals and I'm sure you will succeed at reaching them. Good luck in the future and I hope we have more classes together.
Banae,
ReplyDeleteI love your goal . It is very broad and I hope you fulfil your goal on diversity . Diversity is deeper and broader than I thought but in the past eight weeks I have gained alot . Everyone deserves respect and respect is reciprocal , you get what you give to others. I hope you have a restful 2 weeks break and see you in future classes.
Hi Banae,
ReplyDeleteI love your hope for bringing a sense of unity when working with children and families. It is something we should never lose sight on. Thanks for sharing and I wish you the best with future courses.
Banae,
ReplyDeleteI love how positive you seem to stay. I think it is wonderful that one of your goals is to bring open-mindedness to the table. I could not agree with you more. In your own words, "it all starts with educating people about people." And THANK YOU for being so insightful through out the course!
